Oakland Police Investigating Broad-Daylight Kidnapping, Sexual Assault

OAKLAND (KCBS)— Oakland Police Department are asking the public's help with the investigation of a kidnapping and sexual assault that happened earlier this week.

According to police, the incident occurred Tuesday, March 25th at 2:10 p.m. on the 1800 block of San Pablo Ave. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, struggled and was able to get away from the male suspect.

Investigators released photos of the suspect, who was only described as being 25 to 35 years old, 5'4", 160 pounds with black hair. He was wearing a gray shirt, black vest and gray sweat pants.

The stranger grabbed the woman, police said, and began dragging her backwards while touching her in an inappropriate manner. The victim called police once she broke free.

Crime Stoppers of Oakland is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
