Oakland Woman Dies After Apparent Overdose While At Coachella

INDIO (CBS SF)— An Oakland woman has died in an apparent drug and-or alcohol related overdose at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Southern California.

The Los Angeles Times reports 24-year-old Kimchi Truong sustained some kind of injury last Saturday night and then collapsed while waiting in a taxi line a few hours later.

Investigators say she was unresponsive so she was taken to a nearby hospital. She was later transferred to Desert Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on Thursday.

Police said toxicology tests still need to be performed, but they suspect her death may have been due to an overdose of illicit drugs or alcohol.
