President Obama To Stop At Mountain View Walmart In Latest Bay Area Fundraising Trip

MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS SF) – President Barack Obama will make an appearance at the Walmart store in Mountain View to talk about energy efficiency, as part of his latest fundraising trip to the Bay Area this week.

The White House said Air Force One will land at Moffett Field in Mountain View on Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Obama plans to travel to two Silicon Valley fundraisers for the Democratic National Committee. Obama's first fundraiser is a $32,400 per person tech roundtable at the Los Altos home of 23andMe CEO and co-founder Anne Wojcicki.

The President will then head to the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose for a fundraiser co-hosted by Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer and Y Combinator CEO Sam Altman, the Chronicle reported. Tickets reportedly range from $1,000-$32,400 per person.

The White House said Obama will speak at the Walmart located on Showers Drive on Friday morning. No additional details have been released about the speech.

On its website, the retailer said their goal is to eventually be 100 powered by renewable energy sources.

After the Walmart appearance, the president will depart the Bay Area from Moffett Field.

Obama is also fundraising this week in Los Angeles and San Diego.
