A's Pitcher Jesse Chavez Keeps Head - Barely - On Line Drive
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - In case you missed it Tuesday night, A's pitche Jesse Chavez needed every ounce of his athleticism and instincts to avoid serious injury on the mound.
Trailing the Mariners 3-2 in the top of the 4th, Chavez served up a pitch and saw it come back at his face in an instant, off the bat of Michael Saunders. Here's the clip:
The nifty catch on the screamer ended the inning, but the A's couldn't climb back in the game, losing 8-3.
