LOS GATOS (KCBS/CBS SF)– Police were warning the public to be on the lookout for coyotes after reports of the wild dogs attacking small animals in Los Gatos’ Almond Grove District.

Residents told police that the coyotes have been seen in the area of Nicholsol and Tait avenues in addition to Hollywood Avenue near Worcester Park.

As of Monday there have been two reports of coyotes attacking small pets.

Residents are being advised to keep small cats and dogs indoors at night and outside food.

While coyote sightings are not unusual for this time of year anyone who sees the wild dog should not approach it.

Anyone sightings can be reported to the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department
