SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – The San Francisco man who has vanished following a search of his Russian Hill apartment has posted a Facebook message recounting his battles with depression and his desire to foreshadowing his disappearance.

Investigators said over the weekend that explosive materials were found during an FBI raid of Ryan Kelly Chamberlain II’s apartment at Polk Street and Van Ness Ave. Agents say he has gone missing and is considered armed and dangerous.

Prior to his disappearance, he sent a message titled “Goodbye” to friends which elaborated on his inner struggles.

“You’re reading this. That means we probably don’t know each other anymore, and I owe everyone an explanation,” he posted to friends through his Facebook account. “I’ve timed this note on a Hootsuite delay, and now it’s live, which means I wasn’t around to stop it from posting.”

The full text of the document can be read here (.pdf)

Chamberlain, 42,  goes on to discuss the ‘Dark Times’ in his life, including childhood struggles, frustrations with women and fruitless job searches. He also said he has struggled to form close connections with family, and indicated that his mother had begun “building an Apocalypse bunker.”

Chamberlain did not post any threats, but expressed remorse to friends about the developments in his life.

“I’m so sorry about this. I’m sure this will completely blindside you all,” the note reads.

The FBI has confirmed that they have read the document, but have not commented further. KCBS Radio obtained a copy of the document through an online acquaintance of Chamberlain.

The agency has released photos of Chamberlain and describes him as a white man with brown hair and blue eyes who is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 225 pounds. He was last seen driving a white 2008 Nissan Altima with a California or Texas license plates of either 7FQY085 or BX9M042.
