SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — San Jose police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that badly injured a pedestrian Sunday night in East San Jose, a police sergeant said Thursday.

The driver of a car struck the man as he was crossing Capitol Expressway near Silver Creek Road at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday, police Sgt. Heather Randol said.

The suspect then drove away and the victim was transported to a hospital with major injuries, Randol said.

The suspect car is described as a charcoal gray 2007 to 2010 Honda, possibly an Odyssey model, with damage to the right front headlight sustained in the collision, according to police.

Anyone with information about the case or the suspect can contact Detective Sgt. Matt Christian at (408) 277-4654. People wishing to remain anonymous can call the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers tip line at (408) 947-7867.
