SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — A California fruit packing company announced a recall of peaches, plums, nectarines and pluots after the some of the fruit tested positive for listeria, a potentially dangerous food-borne bacterium.

Wawona Packing Co. is voluntarily recalling the tree-ripened stone fruit that was packed on June 1, 2014 through July 12, 2014 and then shipped directly to retailers and wholesalers who resell the products.

The U.S. Food And Drug Administration has released a full product list for consumers and photos of product labels. They include products sold in Costco, Trader Joe’s, and other retail locations.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause a potentially fatal infection and is particularly dangerous to older adults, pregnant women, newborns, and adults with weakened immune systems, according to the CDC. Symptoms may include fever and muscle aches, GI symptoms, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions.
