Jump On Tomorrow: Obama In The Bay, Caltrans Bridge Demolition, New Bitcoin Rules

(KPIX/KBCW NIGHTBEAT) — Getting a jump on tomorrow: President Obama will be at a luncheon in Los Altos Wednesday to help raise money for the Democratic Party.

The cost?

  • $10,000 just to get in the door..
  • $35,000 if you want to schmooze with the commander-in-chief.

From the current President, to a possible future presidential candidate - Hilary Clinton will be at the Benioff Children's Hospital in Oakland to talk about the importance of reading to children.  But, there's no doubt she will be fielding questions about a possible run in 2016.  That event starts at 11 a.m., and drivers should expect traffic delays around the hospital on Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

If you live around the old San Pedro Creek Bridge on Highway 1 in Pacifica, get ready for a loud wake up call as Caltrans will begin demolition on the bridge Wednesday at 6:30 am. The project will install a longer and higher bridge over the creek that is supposed to be safer if their is a major flood event. Expect the loud construction noise through Friday.

New rules to regulate Bitcoin in New York will be published Wednesday in New York, essentially putting the same record keeping and cyber security systems in place that the big banks have. New york will be the first state to regulate the cryptocurrency.
