Witness Inside Stockton Bank Speaks Out About Violent Heist

STOCKTON (CBS) — A woman who was inside a Stockton bank during last week’s violent robbery and shootout that led to the death of Misty Holt-Singh talked to our sister station in Sacramento about what happened inside the Bank of the West branch.

It’s the first time she or anyone else from inside that bank has spoken out.

Janie Martinez was one of the last people to see Misty Holt-Singh alive before police say she was taken hostage and used as a human shield following a nearly hour-long pursuit on July 16th.

“She didn’t want to go,” she said. “I saw in her eyes that she was scared, and that this was going to to be it.”
