SWAT Team, Bomb Squad Use Robots To Search Hayward Home After Eviction Attempt

HAYWARD (CBS SF) — A SWAT team and bomb squad were using robots to search a Hayward home where authorities tried to evict residents Tuesday morning, a police spokesman said.

Alameda County sheriff’s deputies tried to serve an eviction notice in the 2700 block of Gainesville Avenue at 9:58 a.m., Hayward police Sgt. Ryan Cantrell said.

Inside the home, the deputies found “suspicious” notes and notices and called the Hayward police SWAT team and the sheriff’s office bomb squad, Cantrell said.

The SWAT team and bomb squad surrounded the home and are using robots to search it this afternoon, Cantrell said.
