(CBS SF) — The drought is having an effect on the cleanliness of BART trains.
The transit agency says its washing the exteriors of its trains less frequently in an effort to save water. The trains are now washed every eight days, instead of every four.
BART also says for the past decade, it has re-used 90 percent of the water from each wash cycle.
