SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – “It’s a very sad day for everyone,” John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew.
“Losing someone like Robin Williams is very, very difficult.” Madden got to know Williams through some work at the Madden sound stage in the East Bay. “He could do whatever he was shooting, and then improvise about anyone else who was there,” John said. “He had an amazing mind. When you would see it work, it was something that was tough to understand. How could you have that many things going on in your mind at the same time?… He started talking to (my grandson) Sam who was just a little baby about the (Madden) video game… Then he’d go on and do the next thing, and he would just go back and forth between doing what he did (on the sound stage) and improvising. And then he could go into a regular conversation. I’ve never met anyone like that. I never knew anyone else like Robin Williams.” (6:45)
