'We Suck,' Says Raiders Legend Woodson After Latest Loss

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - After watching his team be throttled at home by a Texans club that managed just two wins all of last year, veteran Raiders safety Charles Woodson said what much of Raider Nation was thinking:

"We suck," Woodson said in the lockeroom after Sunday's loss to Houston. "Today that's as blunt as I could put it. For whatever reason. Defensively we just won't stop people, especially early in games. Every first drive a team is able to go and get points. Today it happened all day."

The final score of the team's home opener was 30-14, but it wasn't even that close. The Raiders trailed 27-zip heading into the fourth quarter before the Raiders got on the scoreboard in garbage time. Among the low-lights for Raider nation was a pair of James Jones fumbles on the same play in the 2nd quarter.

"We put the ball on the ground. We had opportunities and we didn't capitalize on them," Woodson said. "We look bad. It's frustrating because everything that other people say about you, we're making them right...I'm really embarrassed."

It appears Las Vegas oddsmakers agree with Woodson's assessment. The Silver and Black are tied with Jacksonville at 500/1 to win the Super Bowl this year, according to gaming website Bovada. The league's other 0-2 teams still are 200-1 or better to win it all.
