Pablo Sandoval Reportedly Rejects 1-Year Qualifying Offer From Giants

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Fresh off another stellar postseason, San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval will test the open marked after reportedly rejecting a $15.3 million qualifying offer from the World Series champions.

Fox Sports confirmed that Sandoval won't take the one-year qualifying deal, meaning whichever team signs him will have to surrender a first round pick.

The 28-year-old will likely be one of the top targets on the market due to the scarcity of offensive talent at the position.

It has been rumored that Sandoval wanted a contract in line with what right fielder Hunter Pence got, five years and $90 million. The Giants were hesitant to strike that deal, but the price has likely gone up after another productive postseason from Sandoval, who now has three World Series rings from his time as a Giant.
