Steph Curry Closing In On LeBron James For Most All-Star Votes

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - The NBA has released the latest vote totals for the 2015 All-Star Game in New York, and Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry is just over 13,000 shy of unseating King James.

LeBron James leads all recipients with 971,299 votes. Curry is the Western Conference fan favorite with 958,014, meaning he'll likely team up with veteran Kobe Bryant in the back-court for the West. Curry trailed LeBron by about 20,000 votes at last count.

Starting lineups for the February 15th game will be announced on January 22nd.

Curry made his first all-star appearance last season as a starter. Some have speculated that his "splash brother" Klay Thompson has played well enough to earn a reserve spot on this year's team, but his current 170,827 votes make it extremely unlikely he'll be voted in by the fans.

The full vote breakdown is available on CBS Sports.
