Santa Cruz Mom Hoping Viral Pictures Of Her Babies Napping With Dog Will Help Animals Get Adopted

SANTA CRUZ (CBS SF) -- A Santa Cruz woman is hoping to help raise awareness for animal shelters and adoptions with the help of social media and cute kids.

Jessica Shyba's photos of her son Beau napping with his pup Theo in their Santa Cruz home went viral, and the family has only grown since then with the addition of a baby sister Evvie.

Evvie has joined in on the naps, giving mom what she calls a "magical nap time trifecta."

"Theo and Beau find their own kind of groove, and I usually will just nuzzle Evvie up." Shyba said.

Beau and Theo's story is now a children's book, due out next month.  Shyba is hoping her successful pet adoption story will inspire others to adopt.

"Theo is our first rescue dog, and it's been such a really special process."
