Passenger At Oakland Airport Attempts To Pass Dagger Disguised As Eiffel Tower Through Security
OAKLAND (CBS SF) – Transportation Security Adminstration agents at Oakland International Airport stopped a passenger who attempted to pass a dagger hidden in an Eiffel Tower replica through a checkpoint.
A tweet posted by TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein shows the knife which was recently confiscated by agents. The knife is about a foot long.
According to the TSA website, most knives are prohibited from carry-on baggage, with the exception of plastic and round bladed butter knives. Ice picks, meat cleavers, razors, sabers and swords are allowed in checked baggage, but the TSA asks passengers to put them in sheaths to prevent injury to inspectors.
It is unclear what happened to the passenger.
