Is The iWatch A Game-Changer For A Busy Weather Anchor?

I certainly am a gadget girl, so I have been wavering back and forth whether or not I want to make the investment in the new Apple Watch. The first item that caught my attention is the Apple Watch feature tracking three behaviors: Moving, exercising and standing. I commute roughly 45 minutes each way to our KPIX 5 Studios, that's a lot of sitting time. Plus, I am tethered to at least six computers a day…more sitting time. So the Apple Watch "haptic sensor" intrigues me. It sends pulses to remind you to stand up every hour. Pretty cool, but do I need my watch to tap me on the wrist to remind me to stand up? If I really need a reminder, I can simply set my phone alarm to remind me or my outlook calendar to supply a digital reminder...
While I certainly like the idea of freeing up my hands and wearing my phone on my wrist, let me give you my personal 5 reasons why I am leaning towards passing on the Apple Watch.
1. I don't really use my phone to talk on, but it is my most powerful tool for a source of information, directions, contacts and email. I believe it is way more advantageous to continue to use my iPhone rather than a first Generation Apple Watch.
2. Do I want my sensitive data collecting and being stored on my Watch? Who at Apple has access to my sleeping habits and how often I am standing or sitting?
3. Luxury Watches. Most men (and women) I know have pretty decent status watches. Is the Apple Watch going to replace that? Also, I know I personally would not exercise with my APPLE Watch. At such a steep price, I would be afraid of breaking it. It is water resistant, but not water proof for my lake or bay swims.
4. At $300, It too expensive for me. I have taxes to pay and kids in College.
5. As great as the Apple Watch is, it still cannot tell me exactly when the fog will burn off in Ocean Beach or Daly City.
