Groin-Hit Gets Golden State Warriors Guard Shaun Livingston Suspended Without Pay For Single Game
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Golden State Warriors guard Shaun Livingston was slapped with a one-game suspension after hitting Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki in the groin in the third quarter of Saturday night's game, the NBA announced.
Nowitzki told ESPN, "I give him the benefit of the doubt because he's really not that type of player," adding, "I'm not really sure what he was trying to do there, if he was trying to get to the ball through my legs or anything."
He later joked, telling ESPN, "I really enjoyed his tight grip he got. I really enjoyed that."
Golden State went on to win the game 123-110.
The Warriors play the Spurs Sunday night, and Livingston will have to sit out the game without pay.
