On Easter Sunday the Bay Area received nearly a quarter of an inch of rain in the wettest location. The second storm, poised and positioned to slide into the San Francisco Region is a classic Winter Storm. Yep, a Winter storm in our Spring Season. What can you expect?
If this storm stays on its current path, rain will NOT affect the Oakland Athletics Home Opener. While there could be sprinkles or a light shower towards the end of the game, there will NOT be a rain out.
Rain should develop around 10 p.m. in Lake, Sonoma and Napa Counties. The main front continues to sag south into the Metropolitan Bay Area after midnight.
By Tuesday's morning commute, widely scattered showers will impact driving. There will be ponding on some roads.
There is a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm Tuesday containing small hail.
And the snow level drops to 4,000 feet in our local mountain ranges including the Santa Lucia Mountains which could see 3 to 6 inches of snow! Mt. St. Helena is 4,339 feet and should have snow and Mt. Hamilton could pick up accumulation standing 4,200 feet.
As far as the Greater Lake Tahoe Area is concerned, up to 5 inches of snow fell on Easter with another 3 to 6 inches of snow expected Tuesday at "lake level," a foot above 7,000 feet.
A little too late. Never. Bring it.
Plus at least for one day, the pollen count will not affect most of us.
