Traffic Stop Leads To Richmond Police Seizing 4 Pounds Of Meth, Heroin

RICHMOND (CBS SF) – Police in Richmond said detectives and a K-9 found more than four pounds of methamphetamine, along with heroin and illegal guns in a series of searches stemming from a traffic stop.

According to a statement posted on the department's Facebook page Wednesday night, officers stopped a vehicle for minor infractions and impounded the vehicle after finding out the driver was without a license. Police said they discovered one pound of meth in the vehicle and arrested the driver.

Detectives then served a search warrant at the driver's home and searched another car. With the help of a K-9, police said they found three pounds of meth hidden under the dashboard of the second vehicle, along with heroin and two pistols.

Estimated street value of the all the drugs seized is about $211,000, police said.

The suspect's identity was not immediately known.
