Venture Capital Baking Female-Founded Job Listing Site With Focus On Diversity

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A promising sign for female tech entrepreneurs: VentureWire reports that online career advice and job listings site The Muse - founded by three women - raised $10m from a female-led venture investor group.

The three-year old New York City-based startup has three hundred companies listing jobs on the site, and diversity is a prime focus for the firm.

Among its three million monthly active users, Muse says 65-percent are women, and 50-percent are non-white. Compare that to LinkedIn, where 45-percent of its 350-million users are women, and 33-percent are non-white.

The Muse also is specific in the age its targeting, focusing on people between 22 and 39, mostly millenials with a dash of Gen-Xers, saying they have a different approach to work than their older colleagues.
