Weekend Magazine: Save The Waves, Improv, & San Rafael Rocks

You can listen to the broadcast of Weekend Magazine with KCBS Public Affairs Director Liz Saint John every Sunday morning from 3:00am-4:00am and again from 5:00am-6:00am on KCBS All News 740 AM and 106.9 FM.

Liz Saint John interviews three guests every Sunday morning covering a variety of issues and topics. She talks with representatives from Bay Area non-profit organizations, documentary filmmakers, authors, and professors.

1. Save the Waves Coalition works to protect and preserve sensitive surf spot around the world. They work in partnership with local communities, organizations, businesses, governments and surfers. Dean LaTourrette is board president and Ryan Seelbach is board secretary. Their annual 'Life is a Wave fundraiser is June 12 at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco. Listen to  the podcast here.

2. Bats Improv is San Francisco's longest running improv company and school. They offer classes for just about everyone from beginning to advanced improv. And they have some special classes for shy people, people with life threatening illnesses, & singles.  They can work with companies teaching improv as a team building exercise. 3. San Rafael Rocks is an art, film, and music festival in June and July to benefit Drawbridge, an arts education program for homeless children in the Bay Area, and the California Film Institute. The festival will feature fabulous artwork and poster art, live music, a film festival, and a huge block party.
