Early Week Warm-Up Bringing Triple-Digit Temperatures

(CBS SF) -- Expect a whole lot of sunshine to jump start your week as temperatures climb into the triple digits in some parts of the San Francisco Bay Area.

An area of low pressure is exiting as a higher pressure system moves in and brings the heat on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to reach nearly 100 in Sacramento and the low 70s at Monterey Bay.

Monday night temperatures will be in the 70s at the beaches. The warmest locations will see 95 degrees in Gilroy and Brentwood.

Triple digits temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday paired with extremely dry and windy conditions are putting crews on heightened alert for wildfires.

By Thursday, tropical moisture with increased humidity moves in and will return temperatures to seasonable by the weekend.
