Apple Buys 43-Acre Development Site In North San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Apple has purchased 43 acres in North San Jose for $138 million.

The Cupertino-based company closed the deal last Friday on the property, located at 2347 North First Street, according to public records.

Apple could build almost 3 million square feet of office space on the site and accommodate about 15,000 workers.

Recently the company leased a building next door. There's speculation the building and the newly acquired land will be the site of Apple's new San Jose campus.
