2 Southwest Planes Clip Wings At Oakland International Airport

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Crews were doing maintenance checks on two Boeing 737 planes after they clipped wings at Oakland Airport Sunday night.

Southwest Flight 280 was pushing back from the gate when it hit another Southwest plane.

The accident broke off a sizable chunk of the wing tip on one plane.

Both aircraft were immediately taken out of service. Southwest said no one was hurt.

Flight 280 was cancelled and passengers were rebooked on other flights. The other plane was empty when the accident happened. It had arrived from Boise, Idaho earlier Sunday evening.

A passenger took a photo of the damage and posted it on Instagram, commenting "My flight shouldn't look like that.. RIGHT???!"
