Three Shot Dead Outside Salinas Apartment Complex

SALINAS (CBS SF) -- A shooting Monday night in Salinas left three people dead and police are seeking at least two suspects in connection with the homicides.

Around 9:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to 726 Elkington Ave. for reports of a shooting involving three victims, according to police.

When officers arrived, officers found two deceased victims, one male and one female, inside a vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot, police said.

Officers also found a third victim in the parking lot, outside of the car. That victim was taken to Natividad Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, according to police.

All victims had been shot multiple times, police said.

The two victims inside the car were in their early 20s. The third victim found outside the car was 17-years-old, according to police.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victims, pending the notification of their family.

Two males dressed in dark clothing were observed running away from the scene, police said.
