Reports: Kaepernick To Be Benched In Favor Of Gabbert
SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- Colin Kaepernick will be benched Sunday in favor of backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert, multiple sources are reporting Monday night.
Coach Jim Tomsula said Monday that the team was "evaluating everything right now," when asked about Kaepernick's standing, and it appears the decision has been made.
The 49ers fell to a 2-6 record Sunday after a loss to the Jets Sunday.
Bay Area Sports Guy first reported the news of Kaepernick's benching.
The benching means that Gabbert will start when the Niners face the Atlanta Falcons in Santa Clara Sunday.
