Homeless People Stage Sleep-In At Berkeley City Hall To Protest Ordinance
BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- A group of homeless people staged a sleep-in at Berkeley's City Hall.
They spent the night in tents on the lawn to protest a proposal to limit their personal items, such as shopping carts, that take up more than 2 square feet.
Supporters say the restrictions are necessary to keep homeless people from blocking sidewalks.
The City Council is expected to vote on the ban Tuesday night.
