Petaluma Woman Accused Of Performing Sex Act On Developmentally Disabled Person

PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- Petaluma police arrested a woman Tuesday on suspicion of committing a sex act on a person incapable of giving consent, a police sergeant said.

The FBI was investigating alleged child abuse and child pornography involving the suspect, Tawnya Lynn Hopper, 42, of Petaluma, police Sgt. Ed Crosby said.

Police and the FBI served a warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Wilson Street. Hopper was arrested on suspicion of oral copulation in concert with another person on a developmentally disabled victim and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Hopper was booked into Sonoma County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon in Sonoma County Superior Court.

Crosby said he could not discuss details of the alleged incident because there is a possible link to an FBI child abuse investigation.
