Redwood City Man Accused Of Shooting Woman In The Buttocks After Getting Turned Down
REDWOOD CITY (CBS SF) -- A Redwood City man accused of shooting a woman in the buttocks after she turned him down pleaded not guilty Monday to an attempted murder charge, according to prosecutors.
Luis Alfredo Acosta-Rodriguez, 29, was arrested Oct. 26 in connection with an Oct. 17 shooting in unincorporated North Fair Oaks.
He is accused of shooting a woman in her 40s in her buttocks around 2:10 a.m. near First Avenue and Middlefield Road.
Prosecutors allege that Acosta-Rodriguez had been out drinking with the victim and drove her to Jack in the Box for food.
When the woman declined to go somewhere else with him, prosecutors say he ordered her out of the car and then fired two shots at her before fleeing the area.
He was arrested on a warrant after surveillance cameras showing the license plate number on the car linked him to the incident, prosecutors said.
Acosta-Rodriguez is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. He remains in custody on $750,000 bail.
