Fisker To Unveil New $300,000 Car Dubbed 'The Force 1'

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The Force 1 will soon be with us.

Designer Henrik Fisker, best known for the Fisker Karma, plans to unveil his $300,000 automotive oeuvre d'art at the Detroit Auto Show, in January.

Fiskar's luxury, made-in-California Karma was one of the world's first production plug-in hybrid electric sports cars. While the Karma was beautiful, The Force 1 promises something different. Fiskar says it is going to be "the world's highest output natural aspirated engine in a road car." According to Auto Express, that will push it beyond the 789 bhp V12 in the Ferrari LaFerrari.

As for the design, there is a sketch of The Force 1 that suggests a hint of Aston Martin. According to the press release, "the high-preformance automobile is an American take on a super sports car."

Look for Ultra Thin Ventilated (UTV) laser blade tail lamps, modern interior for 2, and "a unique new active suspension."

"I believe there is room in the market for a daily driver that embodies all the attributes of the best track racing car, and the comfort of a luxurious sports car" said Fisker. "Extreme power, great aesthetics and pristine handling make for a superior ride in Force 1, an American Super Car."

Limited production on 'The Force 1' is slated to begin April 16.
