Pair Of Magnitude 4+ Earthquakes Shake North, South Ends Of California

FONTANA (CBS SF) -- A pair of earthquakes registering over magnitude 4 struck both ends of California Tuesday evening, according to the USGS.

A magnitude 4.9 hit an area in the Pacific Ocean off the Northern California coast in an area near Eureka at 5:35 p.m.

The NorCal quake was followed by a magnitude 4.8 earthquake evening in Southern California at 5:48 p.m. in the Fontana area.

No injuries, or damage were initially reported, but people in the Southern California area reported feeling the shaking.
