Teenage Driver Fatally Struck On Highway 4 In Martinez After Leaving Her Crashed Car

MARTINEZ (CBS SF) -- A 19-year-old Concord woman was killed in a series of crashes on state Highway 4 in Martinez Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim crashed her vehicle into the center guardrail on westbound Highway 4, east of Alhambra Avenue just after 8:30 p.m.

She exited the Mazda 3, which had come to rest in the first lane, just before it was hit by a Buick Rivera, according to the CHP.

The impact of that collision caused the Mazda to strike the victim, who was propelled into the second lane of traffic where she was struck again by a Honda Civic, officers said.

All three vehicles struck the center median, and the Buick overturned, according to the CHP.

Details about the victim's identity were not immediately available.
