Another Super Bowl 50 Statue Hit By Vandals

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Yet another Super Bowl 50 statue placed at a San Francisco landmark was targeted by vandals over the weekend, according to online reports.

Website SFist.com posted a brief story Monday morning along with a photo that Twitter user @larrybobsf had sent out Saturday evening that showed the statue at the Palace of Fine Arts with it's letters rearranged to read "Lee Robs" instead of "Super Bowl 50."

SFist writer Eve Batey questioned the logic of the statue designers making it so the letters on the front of the signs moveable. The Palace of Fine Arts statue is just the latest to be targeted. Last week, the statue at Civic Center Plaza by City Hall was altered to read "Sup Bro 50."

The statue placed in Alamo Square Park received so much abuse between graffiti tags, broken lights and rearranged letters -- initially reading "Superb Owl 50" and later to "OOPS" -- before finally being knocked over twice on Saturday that crews removed the sign Sunday morning.

So far, there has been no announcement by the NFL or San Francisco officials whether the sign will be returned to the park.
