Man Charged With Murder For Antioch Shooting That Killed Ex-Girlfriend
ANTIOCH (CBS SF) -- A man arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend at an Antioch convenience store Monday morning has been charged with murder by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.
Thomas Williams Jr., 34, of Oakland, is facing both a murder charge for the killing of 27-year-old Cynthia Flores-Crose and a count of attempted murder for allegedly shooting 27-year-old Thomas Payne, a clerk at the Quik Stop store at 2760 W. Tregallas Road, shortly after 7 a.m. Monday.
Investigators determined that Williams had a heated exchange with Flores-Crose outside the store, then followed her into the store before allegedly shooting her and Payne, who tried to intervene, police said.
Payne was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening, while Flores-Crose died of gunshot wounds at the scene, according to police.
Williams was arrested in front of the Antioch Police Department a short time after the shooting, police said. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
He is expected to appear in court Thursday afternoon to be arraigned, according to the district attorney's office.
