Woman Hurt, 2 Dogs Euthanized After Felony Hit-And-Run In Saratoga
SARATOGA (CBS SF) -- Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies arrested a driver on Saturday wanted in connection with a felony hit-and-run crash Friday that injured two dogs so severely they had to be euthanized in Saratoga.
The person was arrested for felony hit-and-run in connection with a collision Friday morning at Dagmar Drive and Holiday Court, spokesman James Jensen said.
A Saratoga woman was walking two dogs in that vicinity when they were struck by a gray or black Ford truck and pulled under the vehicle. The dogs were rushed to a vet, where they had to be euthanized due to the severity of their injuries.
The dogs were Labradors named Sadie and Chudley.
The woman, Anne Palmer, was holding on to a dog leash and fell to the ground when the dogs were hit. She suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital.
Deputies say the suspect vehicle was a newer, long-bed crew cab with large tires and a camper shell that was not the same color as the truck.
On Saturday morning the Sheriff's office tweeted that they had arrested a suspect in the case.
