CALAVARAS COUNTY (CBS SF) — A wildfire raging in Calaveras County has grown to more than 200 acres and forced evacuations.

The fire broke out around 1 p.m. and is burning out of control just south of the Camanche Reservoir.

Tall flames and black smoke can be seen from far away as air tankers overhead drop fire retardant.

Sheriff’s deputies are going house-to-house on two roads to get people out.

So far, two outbuildings have been destroyed.
