Kerr, Curry Each Fined $25,000 Following Game 6

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Golden State coach Steve Kerr has been fined $25,000 for post-game comments about the referees in Game 6 of the NBA Finals while star Steph
Curry was docked an equal amount for his on-court meltdown after fouling out of the contest.

The fine came as no surprise to Kerr, who felt compelled to criticize the officiating involving Curry.

"He gets six fouls called on him, three of them were absolutely ridiculous," Kerr said in a post-game news conference. "As the MVP of the league, we're talking about these touch fouls in the NBA Finals. I'm happy he threw his mouthpiece."

His latter comment refers to Curry's reaction after fouling out of his first game of the season. Angry, the two-time MVP tossed his mouthguard into the stands.

"I didn't think I fouled either Kyrie (Irving) or LeBron (James)," said Curry, recounting fouls No. 5 and 6. "It was obviously frustrating fouling out in the fourth quarter of a clinching game and not being out there with my teammates. So it got the best of me, but I'll be all right for the next game."

It was the second time the NBA has taken action against the Warriors during the Finals.

Star forward Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5 after an on-court confrontation with James. He returned for Game 6, scoring 8 points, pulling down 10 rebounds and dishing off 6 assists.

With the series tied 3-3, the NBA Finals will be decided in a Game 7 in Oakland on Sunday.
