Mutt With Trump Comb Over Favored In Ugliest Dog Contest
PETALUMA (CBS SF) – Friday's dog show at the Sonoma-Marin Fair will never be mistaken for the annual Westminster Kennel Club gathering in New York.
But that doesn't mean that Icky, Moochie, Rue, Him-Is-A-Boo or Scamp are loved any the less. It just happens that the winner is judged by very different standards.
A collection of homely hounds have gathered in California's Wine Country for the annual World's Ugliest Dog contest.
The winner will receive $1,500 and a trophy. There will also be cash awards for the runner-up and the third-place winner.
Included among the entries this year is a pup from Idaho who has drawn a great deal of attention for his orange fur comb-over hairstyle which some believe looks like that of presidential candidate Donald Trump.
It is the fourth year Heather Wilson has signed one of her dogs up for the contest and hopes the presidential campaign will help 'Him-Is-A-Boo' take home the big prize.
"Let's make ugly great again! We figured whether people loathe The Donald or love The Donald, a vote for Him-Is-A-Boo is a vote for a dog that looks like Donald Trump," Wilson told KBOI.
