Juvenile Inmate Held At Campus Near Fresno Dies From Medical Emergency

FRESNO (AP) -- Authorities say a juvenile inmate who was having a medical emergency was taken to a Central California hospital where he died.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office says Sunday the juvenile was being held at the Juvenile Justice Campus south of Fresno.

The Fresno Bee reports the juvenile was taken by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno, where he died Saturday.

The office says the investigation is continuing and that the family has been notified.

It says the cause of death will be determined by a pending autopsy.

The name of the youth was not release and no other information was immediately available.
