Bodies Of Missing Father And Son Found In Pleasanton Lake
PLEASANTON (CBS SF) – Divers have recovered the bodies of a father and son who vanished after falling into a Pleasanton lake Sunday evening, according to
East Bay Regional Park District officials.
The two were on a raft at Shadow Cliffs Lake with a group of family members around 7 p.m. Sunday. They were out in the middle of the lake, in an area that is outside of the lake's designated swim area and about 40 feet deep.
East Bay Regional Park District spokeswoman Carolyn Jones said the pair fell off the raft and Good Samaritans tried unsuccessfully to rescue them. The men did not know how to swim and were not wearing life jackets.
The names of the pair -- ages 49 and 34 -- have not been released.
Dive teams from both the park district and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office began searching for the two men Sunday night and continued searching again Monday morning, Jones said.
