6-Year-Old Raises Funds For San Francisco Zoo's Hippo

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- At the San Francisco Zoo Monday, a six-year-old-boy celebrated his birthday in an unusual way. He gave his special annual present to the zoo's only hippo.

Every year since he was two, this boy named Bud has donated his birthday cash to Brian Wilson the hippo.

The animal was named after the former Giants closer for a zoo fundraiser in 2011.

Bud has also started a crowdfunding campaign. The cash Bud raised will buy food for his favorite zoo friend.

He hopes to eventually raise enough money for a new exhibit and ultimately more hippos.
