One Dead, One Wounded In San Jose Shooting

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) – One man was dead and another wounded in a Monday night shooting as the homicide rate in San Jose surpassed the number of violent deaths in 2015.

Investigators said friends drove the pair to the Regional Medical Center at 6:18 p.m.

One of the shooting victim's suffered non-life threatening injuries while the second succumbed to his wounds.

His death was the 32nd homicide of the year, according to the San Jose Mercury News. San Jose had only 30 homicides in 2015.

Investigators believe the shooting took place North White and McKee roads – an area known for gang activity.

The shooting remains under investigations and no other details were immediately available.
