Armed Fremont Break-In Suspects Caught On Camera

FREMONT (CBS SF) -- Police in Fremont Wednesday released video surveillance footage from one of two home break-ins this month that they believe were committed by the same group of suspects.

The most recent break-in, the one caught on video, happened at about 9:40 p.m. Sunday at a home on Pilgrim Loop. Five suspects with guns went into the home through a rear patio door.

The homeowner wasn't home, but watched the intruders remotely through a video surveillance system and immediately called police. The suspects fled just before police arrived.

They were wearing masks and gloves during the burglary, but at one point the surveillance footage captures one of the suspects' faces. Another is wearing a T-shirt with a distinctive pattern.

Police believe they are the same suspects who broke into a home on Hunter Lane between 9 and 10 p.m. on Aug. 16 and held the residents at gunpoint. That time, they got in through an open garage door.

In both incidents, the suspects fled in a dark-colored four-door sedan, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has any information about the case has been asked to contact Detective N. Austin at NAustin@fremont.gov or (510) 790-6932.
