Third Eye Blind Announce New EP 'We Are Drugs'

By Amanda Wicks

(RADIO.COM) – Fresh off their trolling session at the Republican National Convention in July, Third Eye Blind announced they'll be releasing a new six-song EP We Are Drugs this fall. The release follows up their 2015 studio album Dopamine.

To give listeners a taste of what's to come, San Francisco band, Third Eye Blind premiered We Are Drugs' first single, "Company of Strangers" Thursday, September 8th. On the song, Stephan Jenkins details a new love interest who prefers life's emptier connections, and how her indifference affects him.

The song begins quietly with guitar, drums and Jenkins' voice before building into an anthemic release on the chorus. "I like to live a life of danger/ I like holding on to the company of strangers," he repeats on the catchy hook, singing about the person he's attracted to and how life has warped her ability to make a meaningful moment with someone.

We Are Drugs arrives digitally October 7. Listen to "Company of Strangers" at Radio.com.
