Icy Blast Delivers Sierra’s First Snow

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS SF) – A frigid weather front seeped into Northern California from the Northwest Tuesday bringing with it the chance for as much as 3 inches of snow in the higher elevations of the Sierra.

The Sierra ski resorts were populating their social media with photos of the snow that has accumulated overnight.

Sierra at Tahoe, Kirkwood and Squaw Valley all got their first dusting of snow for the 2016-2017 season.

In the Bay Area, the weather system brought in unseasonably cold temperature. In Livermore where it is generally in the mid-80s, the early morning low Tuesday was 48 degrees.
