Water, Gas Disruptions At San Jose Mobile Home Park Frustrates Residents

SAN JOSE (KCBS) -- It's been a double whammy for residents of an East San Jose mobile home park now living with no water after losing their gas service just two weeks ago.

More than 200 residents in the Hometown America Mobile Home Park are without water since Monday.

Jenny, who lives in the park, says a construction crew that broke the water main was also responsible for the gas service disruption.

"It's a pain in the butt," she said.

Some residents have been hauling water from the pool to flush toilets, and park managers have brought in porta-potties.

Water is expected to be flowing again by Wednesday, and the gas line has been replaced.

The construction project is designed to improve roads in the mobile home park, but some residents are having a tough time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

"This is our home, and they're messing it up."
