Eddie DeBartolo Receives Hall Of Fame 'Ring Of Excellence' During Halftime Ceremony
SANTA CLARA (CBS SF/AP) -- The 49ers honored Eddie DeBartolo Jr. Sunday.
A steady rain didn't damper the halftime ceremony for former 49ers owner Edward DeBartolo Jr., who received his Hall of Fame "Ring of Excellence" while everyone held umbrellas.
"I was told all these years I brought rain, thunder and lightning to this franchise, and I guess today proves it," he said.
The 49ers went on to lose to the New England Patriots, 30-17.
